Hello Beautiful People, as you can see I have not gotten any better with this blogging thing. Well, I had some technical difficulties with my site, which is what drew me to update my blog. I realize I have not said much about myself: Well, I am a professional freelance makeup artist located inWashington, DC. I have about 7 years experience in the industry, and have added esthetics to my training in my more recent years. I completed esthetics training in 2006 at The French Institute in Washington DC. This is actually what led me to the makeup field - skin care. So, as you know in 2007 I ventured out on my own as a freelance makeup artist. Since then, I have had many of my peers on my side. I am truly blessed to know such beautiful people. I hope to continue to expand my circle of friends and grow together in this scary world! BTW - My birthday is coming up and I hope to be able to celebrate all of the wonderful people in my life, who have assisted in my happiness in my __ years thus far! HA! Not blasting my age...not just yet at least! I C Faces and Beautiful People!
XOXO

On the Clock Makeup Tips
Modern beauty style is about being flexible, easy, and ever changing. Here are three beauty routines that will always have you looking your best in no time:
5 Minutes
· Creamy concealer under eyes to cover dark circles.
· Tinted moisturizer or stick foundation to blend the concealer into your skin (cheekbone area) · Brown or black mascara if you're fair; skip it if you have dark lashes.
· Cream blush/highlighting stick on apples of cheeks.
· Lip balm or lip gloss.
10 Minutes
It's a full face of makeup, but it's quick and creates a polished look.
· Concealer on dark under-eye circles.
· Foundation all over face.
· Sheer face powder for a lasting smooth look.
· Shape and define brows with brow brush and eye shadow toned to your natural hair color.
· Light eye shadow from lashes to brow bone; medium eye shadow from upper lashes to crease; dark eye shadow for lining upper lashes; and one or two coats of black mascara.
· Neutral blush with a brighter shade of blush applied on top for a pop of color.
· Lipstick and gloss.
20 Minutes
Glam it up for a special event by picking cooler colors and textures and adding definition.
· Same concealer, foundation, and powder as the 10-minute makeup routine.
· Define brows with eye shadow and/or pencil.
· For easy glamour, try shimmery eye shadow.
· Smudge a medium eye-shadow color in the crease of the lid to contour for a more dramatic eye.
· Line upper and lower lash lines with charcoal or black liner.
· Two coats of black mascara.
· Dust shimmer on cheeks over your regular blush.
· Lipstick with lip liner for added definition, finished with a layer of gloss.

The Life of a Freelance Makeup Artist
The end of next month will mark a year since I have been a full-time freelance makeup artist. I must admit it has not been all fun and games, but I know I have been blessed to be able to last this long. Determination and sacrifice is the name of the game. My first few weeks of going freelance, I worked on the set of the Tabi Bonney video "In the Pocket" and on an independent film, "Canon" (by Jaben Early). Full time freelancing, you have to have your ear to the ground and perfect your networking game. There have been plenty days of sitting home and researching online for jobs and being down and out. Now, I have come to appreciate those days - breaks. These are what I call my weekends. I'm just getting into this blogging thing, so stay tuned......
